The event

This presentation and panel discussion aimes to characterise the innovative properties of a newly developed dental varnish, produced by VOCO GmbH, which integrates BioMin glass with the well-established VOCO Profluorid Varnish. The VOCO Profluorid Varnish component provides a significant source of fluoride, containing 5 % sodium fluoride, known for its rapid desensitisation and fluoride release capabilities. For comparative analysis, two other varnishes were also evaluated, both of which are commonly used in preventive dentistry and contain additional sources of calcium and phosphate. Results and conclusions are based on a series of scientific experiments such as Vickers hardness measurements, different spectroscopy and microscopy methods as well as on X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X ray Micro-Tomography (XMT). VOCO Profluorid Varnish + BioMin exhibits the highest recovery in hardness among all included varnishes as well as showing one of the highest releases of calcium and phosphate. Also, it shows a marked reduction in open dentine tubules, even persisting after 24 hours, indicating sustained protection. Finally yet importantly, the application of VOCO Profluorid Varnish + BioMin effectively inhibites enamel demineralisation. Make sure to join us in this event to learn and understand the scientific and technical facts behind this novel dental varnish with a true demineralisation-inhibiting effect as an additional benefit in reducing dentin hypersensitivity. We will also present and discuss the clinical aspect of VOCO Profluorid Varnish + BioMin and how it helps improve your daily workflow.
