Due to the elliptically ground area on the instrument tip and the diamond-shaped plateau, gentle penetration into the interdental space or periodontal cleft is optimally guaranteed.
Through its ability to rotate 180° and its shape, four luxation movements are possible: 2x mesial and 2x distal. During luxation, the instrument operates with between 5-7 hypo mochlions (rotation and supporting actions), which is significantly superior to any conventional elevator.
The grooves on the edge of the instrument provide especially efficient luxation. The instrument tips are not designed for axial leverage as this could lead to fracture.
