The QUART DVTap test phantom was developed to check and verify the image quality of dental CBCT (3D) X-ray systems.
Since 2012, the DVTap has been the standard product for dental CBCT X-ray quality assurance in Germany.
The phantom is associated with an image evaluation software called DVTtec, which automatically analyses the phantom images in terms of their digital characteristics. This innovative approach breaks down a technically complex test into a smooth, software-assisted procedure which provides time-efficiency and ease-of-use as added benefits.
Hence, the application is simple: slice images of the test phantom are extracted from the image data set of the phantom. The slices are then loaded into the software where they are routinely processed and evaluated. After the evaluation, data is stored and a test report can be printed. The QUART DVTap/DVTtec set permits measurement of Homogeneity, Noise, Contrast-to-Noise Ratio, Artefacts, MTF and Pixel Intensity.
The QUART DVTap CBCT image quality test phantom complies with DIN 6868-161 and DIN 6868-16. It was also the first-to-market solution to conform to the latest IEC standard 61223-3-7 for image QA in CBCT.
